A free, open-air, climate-friendly community meal is coming to the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Everybody Eats in Te Komititanga invites people from all walks of life to come together, share kai, and connect over a meal with sustainability at its heart.
Taking place on Saturday, 28th March, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, this special gathering is hosted at Te Komititanga (by Britomart Station), in Downtown Auckland. The meal is free, and on the day, guests will have the option to pay it forward to help feed someone in need.
Elements of the meal will be made from rescued food, reinforcing the importance of reducing food waste while providing delicious, nourishing dishes.
Made possible with the support of Auckland Council Whānau and the city centre targeted rate, and brought to life by Everybody Eats, Kiwi Harvest and Interesting Things.

- Do I need a ticket for this event?
Yes, tickets are required to help us manage numbers - register for a free ticket here. There may be space for walk-ins on the day, but isn't guaranteed. Spots will be reserved for our community partners.
- What time do I need to arrive? Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes before your allocated time
- Do I need to create an account on Universe to buy a ticket? No, you don't need an account. Universe allows you to buy tickets as a guest during checkout. You have the option to create an account for faster future purchases or sign in if you already have one
- What do I wear? Dress for the weather - a hat and sunscreen if it is sunny, and / or something warm if it is cooler
- Where in Te Komititanga is the event happening? Te Komititanga is the square at the bottom of Queen Street between Commercial Bay and Waitamatā train station. The meal is happening in the middle of the square.
- Are allergies taken into consideration? The meal is vegetarian, and low allergen. That said, because of the wide range of allergies, we cannot guarantee the meal will be allergen-free, and advise taking precautions if you have serious allergies.
- If the weather is bad, will the event go ahead? Is there a rain date? The event will take place in light rain, however it may be moved if heavy rain is forecast. In the event of the meal being re-scheduled, ticket holders will be notified by email.
- If I can no longer attend and need to cancel my Tickets, what do I do?
- After booking the tickets, you will receive an email confirmation.
- In the email, click Manage Order, which will take you to your Account.
- Once signed in, click the drop-down menu on the top right corner.
- Then click My Tickets.
- Click More on the ticket to the event you wish to cancel
