Jono brings with him a deep respect for simple ingredients, technique, and heart values that have shaped his journey in Auckland’s food scene. He began working in kitchens at eighteen, and after travelling and immersing himself in European traditions, he returned home to co-found Pici, a pasta restaurant rooted in simplicity, quality, and big flavour. Later, alongside his partners Kazuya Suzuki and Gemma Hareb, he helped launch Ooh-Fa — a 22-seat neighbourhood pizzeria that brings the same ethos of minimalism and craftsmanship to sourdough pizza and natural wine.
On the night, Jono will guide us through a traditional Māori boil-up, weaving together flavours, and the generosity of kai to create something more than a meal — a moment of connection.
Mark your calendars — this is more than just dinner, it’s a collaboration of community, culture, and cuisine.
