We Love Mac n Cheese is more than just a celebration of the ultimate comfort food — it’s a feast with purpose, where every bowl of hot, tasty goodness helps provide a meal for someone in need.
Taking place on the final day of the festival, the event will serve up 2,000 bowls of mac ‘n’ cheese, with a fundraising goal to match: supporting 2,000 nourishing meals for the community.
“We love Wellington. We love food. And we love community. This event is about bringing those elements together in the most delicious way — with an event that will help us continue to feed more people in our community.” says Kaibosh CE Susie Robertson.
For just $10 per bowl, diners can enjoy customisable mac ‘n’ cheese made with rescued, high-quality ingredients — and know they’re helping fund either:
“It’s comfort food we all love, made with mahi aroha,” says Everybody Eats Wellington Manager. “And it shows what’s possible when we rethink waste and put community at the centre.”
Served from the Everybody Eats restaurant on Dixon Street, mac can be eaten in or taken away to share with the whānau or your flat. Toppings and flavours will showcase the creativity and flavour of food rescue — with the public invited to vote on favourite combos in the lead-up via social media.
As official charity partners of Visa Wellington On a Plate 2025, both organisations are proud to be part of a food festival that reflects manaakitanga, sustainability and shared joy.
“At both of our charities, we believe food is love — and food rescue is aroha in action,” says Robertson.“It’s all about community-powered kai that cares for people and the planet.”
The Next Gen Cook Off returns for its fifth year, and things are heating up at Everybody Eats.
